Introduction
My name is Dan Thorin and I'm a Cognitive Science student originally based at the University of Umeå, Sweden. This site is devoted to my concluded master thesis project at Lund University in the area of natural language processing. It was carried out under the supervision of Pierre Nugues, senior lecturer at the department of computer science at Lund University.
The project was requested by the Microsoft Development Center of Copenhagen (MDCC) to investigate the feasibility of a multilingual semantic dependency parser for the domain of Value Added Tax (VAT). A future goal is for the semantic parser to form the ground-work of an ontology generator taking input in the form of written scenarios. The ontology generator would be capable of automatically detecting the objects, events and relations that make up the internal structures of an enterprise-resource planning (ERP) system called Dynamics NAV, which is developed at MDCC.
